1969 - Mister Cesare Gasparrini and Dante Postachini founded Gaposa srl. In the same year, the first motors are launched: Model A for shutters and model B for steel rolling doors with springs.
1979 - The first lateral operator for large industrial doors is launched: Sidemotor. Its robustness and high reliability makes it a reference point in the industry.

1980 – The revolutionary central operator, Split, is launched. Its two shell construction allows simple and fast installation without cutting the tube or welding it. Its immediate success in Europe forced the competition to copy Gaposa.

1990 – With safety being one of the fundamentals of Gaposa, the M10A safety brake is launched. It is the first of many to come, making Gaposa one of the very few companies to have a complete range.
1992 – Always looking to invest on new markets, Gaposa released the Miniside lateral operator for industrial shutters. Available in single phase and three phase this motor is complemented by the M1A safety brake.
1997 – The SCZ range of sectional door operators is born.
1998 – Launch of the Axial tubular motor range, 50 series, dedicated to the awning and shutter market. The wide range and the quality of the catalog makes Gaposa one of the most appreciated brands at the international level.
1999 – In the wake of the Spanish economic boom, Gaposa ESPAÑA is incorporated to distribute and service Gaposa motors.

2002 – In order to enhance their versatility, Split motors evolve to Split Combi, making available two half shelves in order to adapt to the different tubes and spring boxes found on the market.
2004 – The Miniside operator is replaced by the SidOne range with integrated safety brake, allowing a simpler installation while increasing safety.

2005 – The new production site is inaugurated. Thanks to a total surface of more than 6.000 m2, the building allows Gaposa to keep up with increasing demand and to optimize its production processes. All company departments from production to sales, including R&D, are now in the same building.
2006 – In accordance with the European rule EN13241-1 on building safety, Gaposa launched the Split Euro-pack for steel rolling doors. This unique patented innovating system integrates the safety brake in a spring box, thus conforming it completely to the European rule.
2008 - Targeting higher quality in the tubular motor range, a completely automatic line is set up.
2009 – With the aim to offer faster delivery and better service, Gaposa France, second subsidiary after Spain, is launched.

2010 – With the acquisition of an important electronics manufacturer, starts the internal production for most electronics found in the product catalog (Electronic boards, sensors, transmitters…) .
2011 – The search for excellence pushed Gaposa to update its tubular motor range, Axial, to the new XQ range. This new motor range is available with more electronic options, new end limit possibilities and even quieter motors. The Slogan “Experience the Quality” (XQ stands for this motto) states the commitment of Gaposa to offer more sophisticated, innovating and performing motors.

2015 – Our American subsidiary, Gaposa Inc., has been founded with the purpose of offering a faster and better service to our American customers. Besides the United States, Gaposa Inc. follows also our customers from Canada and Latin America.
2016 – Gaposa further strengthens its reputation of manufacturer of silent operators by launching the XS DC whisper-quite tubular motors line, available also with integrated lithium battery.
2018 – The RAPIDO side motors' range has been introduced. Designed for the operation of high-speed and folding doors, this range is available with a large combination of torque and speed, making Gaposa's catalogue one of the most complete for the automation of industrial doors.
2020 – After years in the market with third-party solutions, Gaposa enters the domotics market with the RollApp, its own proprietary App which gives full remote control over all the Gaposa radio automation systems.
